Cordillera active COVID-19 cases nearly double in week

Active COVID-19 cases in Cordillera nearly doubled from 26 to 54 between June 12 and June 18.

Benguet saw its active cases increase significantly, rising from 4 on June 10 to 27 by June 18.

As of Saturday, June 20, the breakdown of active cases in Cordillera was: Abra (5), Apayao (6), Baguio (7), Benguet (25), Ifugao (3), Kalinga (7), and Mountain Province (1).

Benguet reported five new asymptomatic cases on June 18, including three police officers, a student, and a health worker.

The region's total number of cases reached 109 with eight new cases recorded by June 18, and the second death was confirmed in Cordillera.
