Filipinos abroad exceed 6k in COVID-19 cases

As of Tuesday, June 16, the total number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for COVID-19 exceeded 6,000 with 455 new cases reported.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) also noted that recoveries increased to 2,833 and fatalities rose to 442.

In the Asia-Pacific region alone, there are now 570 confirmed cases with 479 recoveries and two deaths.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana reported on Monday that over 50,000 OFWs have been repatriated since May amid the pandemic.
