QC to open quarantine facilities, molecular lab

Quezon City will open new quarantine facilities and a molecular laboratory before August ends.

Mayor Joy Belmonte visited the new quarantine facilities in various barangays and a 64-room facility inside Quezon City University, built with recycled container vans.

The city's molecular laboratory, located in Barangay Teachers Village East and funded by Megaworld Corporation, can process up to 500 COVID-19 tests daily with a one or two-day turnaround time.

DOH has already accredited the laboratory at level 3, and it can also conduct other medical tests such as those for tuberculosis, HIV, and dengue.
