PH gov't to repatriate OFW remains from Saudi

The Philippine government will repatriate the remains of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who died in Saudi Arabia and other countries, including those who died from COVID-19.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that the Inter-Agency Task Force approved this recommendation by the foreign affairs and labor departments on Thursday, June 25.

Overseas Workers Welfare Administration chief Hans Leo Cacdac assured that all OFW remains in Saudi Arabia will be brought home regardless of cause of death, though a specific repatriation date has not been announced yet.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said he would discuss the appeal for repatriation with other government leaders and is prepared to send two airplanes for this purpose.
