Solon calls 'VIP' COVID-19 vaccination an illegal drug

Bayan Muna Representative Ferdinand Gaite criticized the 'VIP' COVID-19 vaccination for some members of the military and Cabinet, calling it an 'illegal drug' since no vaccine has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Gaite accused presidential spokesperson Harry Roque of lying when defending the inoculations, stating that RA 9711 requires FDA approval for all vaccines, even donations.

President Rodrigo Duterte had earlier claimed some military members received a Sinopharm-developed vaccine.
