AFP chief orders probe on PSG's unauthorized COVID-19 vaccine use

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief-of-staff Gen. Gilbert Gapay has ordered an investigation into the unauthorized vaccination of some Presidential Security Group (PSG) members with a COVID-19 vaccine that has not been approved by the country's Food and Drug Administration.

The AFP spokesperson, Marine Major Gen. Edgard Arevalo, stated that the investigation will look into the factual circumstances surrounding the incident.

Arevalo also said that the AFP stands by PSG commander Brig. Gen. Jesus Durante’s statement that the vaccination was done to protect President Duterte from potential infection.
