BARMM welcomes 158 residents from Metro Manila and Baguio

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) welcomed 158 returning residents from Metro Manila and Baguio City via a sweeper flight chartered by the region to comply with ECQ measures on Friday, June 5.

A stringent health screening process was conducted before departure and upon arrival at Cotabato airport. The National Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) has commended BARMM's quick response against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), despite being a young political entity in the south.

BARMM received medical supplies and equipment from the National Task Force on coronavirus disease, including 1,000 KN95 face masks, 10,000 personal protective equipment, and a total of 23,000 rapid test kits to be distributed equally among all five BARMM provinces.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that it would provide more laboratory testing and isolation facilities in the region to intensify its fight against Covid-19 as more LSIs and ROFWs are returning home.

Currently, the region has 28 confirmed cases with seven recoveries and four deaths.
