NegOcc opens quarantine center, declares 59 hot zones

Negros Occidental has opened a quarantine center in EB Magalona to accommodate patients under investigation for COVID-19.

The facility will house 210 beds and is part of the provincial government's efforts to control the number of PUIs sent to hospitals.

Additionally, 59 areas across 14 local government units have been declared as 'hot zones' and placed under a 14-day lockdown to prevent virus transmission during the enhanced community quarantine period.

The 'Bantay Negrense' campaign has also been launched to declare streets or barangays as hot zones if they meet certain criteria related to positive cases, PUIs, or PUMs.
