Philippines mourns Pope Francis; Baguio and Davao hold Masses

Baguio Cathedral and local officials expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Pope Francis on Easter Monday, with plans for a Requiem Mass in his honor led by Bishop Rafael T. Cruz on Friday, April 25.

In Davao City, Archbishop Romulo G. Valles led a Mass for the Eternal Repose of the Soul of Pope Francis on Tuesday morning, expressing profound sorrow and describing him as a guiding light who deepened faith through ancient truths.

Archbishop Valles also established a designated area within San Pedro Cathedral featuring photographs from Pope Francis' life to serve as a place for reflection and prayer.

The Davao City Council adopted a resolution conveying their heartfelt sympathy and condolences, while the Ateneo de Davao University and Holy Cross of Davao College joined in mourning with prayers and tributes.
