Philippine bishops among first to get COVID-19 vaccines

Baguio Bishop Victor Bendico and Jaro Archbishop Romeo Lazo were among the first bishops to receive their COVID-19 vaccines.

Bendico was inoculated with an unspecified brand of vaccine on March 19, while Lazo received the AstraZeneca vaccine on March 15.

Bishop Bendico encouraged other bishops to get vaccinated for personal health and to protect others.

He stated that his doctor advised him to receive the vaccine due to frequent interactions with people in his diocese.
