Bacolod mayor urges vigilance after spike in local Covid-19 cases

Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia urged residents to remain vigilant after the city recorded 25 new coronavirus cases on Wednesday, the highest number in almost four months.

Leonardia stressed that there is no room for complacency during a pandemic and called for continued adherence to minimum health protocols.

City Administrator Em Ang noted that although the increase in cases is not yet alarming, it is certainly concerning. She highlighted that 14 of the new cases are close contacts and urged residents to avoid mass gatherings and social mixing until vaccination becomes widespread.
