Arah Panique joins Alas Pilipinas for AVC Challenge Cup

Arah Panique, a late addition to the Alas Pilipinas team for the AVC Challenge Cup, is eager to contribute despite joining only days before the competition.

Panique, who plays as a backup spiker for National University and recently won a UAAP championship, received her call-up after teammate Casiey Dongallo suffered an injury and other teammates declined due to fatigue from their school seasons.

The young player expressed her determination to bring energy to the national team through her performance in the UAAP and her enthusiasm to help the squad composed of PVL and UAAP stars during a press conference on Monday.

Although she has only trained with the team for two days, Panique is no stranger to representing the country, having participated in the Southeast Asia V League and AVC Asian Seniors Championship last year.

Alas Pilipinas will begin their Pool A campaign against Australia on Thursday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum, followed by matches against India, Iran, and Chinese Taipei.
