Antique LGUs appeal for GCQ extension

Local government units (LGUs) in Antique appealed to extend the general community quarantine (GCQ) until May 30, despite the province being classified as low-risk for COVID-19.

Governor Rhodora Cadiao acknowledged that people's cooperation has helped manage the spread of the virus, with only Caluya and Pandan towns having confirmed cases.

The LGUs are in a dilemma because while they want to protect public health, there is also concern about economic impacts.
