Ang denies offering P300M to Patidongan over missing sabungeros

Businessman Charlie 'Atong' Ang denied offering P300 million to Julie 'Dondon' Patidongan in exchange for sparing him from a case related to the disappearance of cockfight enthusiasts from 2021 to 2022.

Ang claimed that Patidongan had been plotting to kidnap and kill him, with his associates surrounding him during the time of the alleged discussions, and said he gave Patidongan P12 million for his mayoral campaign in the last elections.

Patidongan countered by stating that Ang was behind the abduction of the missing sabungeros and asked him to sign an affidavit recanting his statements in exchange for P300 million, which Patidongan refused.

According to GMA Integrated News, Ang accused Patidongan of trying to kidnap him and offered baseless charges against Patidongan, while Patidongan denied these allegations and claimed one of the guards charged was a relative of Ang who abandoned him in the case.

The Commission on Elections mirror server showed Dondon Patidongan narrowly losing the mayoral race in Barobo, Surigao Del Sur, to Ronnie Martizano.
