Tarlac mayor denies being Chinese national as alleged by senator

Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo denies being Chinese national Hua Ping Guo as alleged by Senator Sherwin Gatchalian.

Guo's camp states her real name is Alice Leal Guo and she does not know about the documents Gatchalian referred to.

Atty. Stephen David, Guo's lawyer, asserts they can prove false accusations against her and are studying whether to file a case against those publicizing documents related to Mayor Guo.

Gatchalian presented Chinese passport and Special Investors Resident Visa (SIRV) of Hua Ping Guo, alleging she entered the Philippines in 2003 at age 13 and looks similar to Guo.

BI confirmed Gatchalian's documents but refused to comment if Alice Guo and Hua Ping Guo are one and the same; BOI also could not confirm their identity.

Gatchalian believes proving Hua Ping Guo's identity would bolster quo warranto case against Mayor Guo.
