Alex Eala enters French Open main draw at age 19

Teenage tennis sensation Alex Eala has been added to the main entry list for women's singles at Roland Garros, marking her Grand Slam debut as a professional.

Eala, currently ranked 72nd by the WTA and listed as the 74th seed in the French Open, follows up on her recent success at the Miami Open where she defeated Iga Swiatek.

Polish player and four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek is the second seed for this year's tournament, while Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka enters as the top seed following her victory in the Miami Open.

Eala recently secured a historic run at the Miami Open that catapulted her to new heights in the WTA rankings and into the main draw of the French Open from May 19 to June 8.

The 19-year-old Filipina sensation's progress is highlighted by her recent defeats of Swiatek, Jessica Pegula, and other former Grand Slam winners, making her a notable addition to this year's star-studded cast.
