Alex Eala and Eva Lys eliminated from Wimbledon

Filipina tennis star Alex Eala and her partner Eva Lys were eliminated from both women's singles and doubles competition at Wimbledon on Thursday following losses to Quinn Gleason and Ingrid Martins, as well as defending champion Barbora Krejčíková.

Eala and Lys lost in straight sets, 4-6, 2-6, despite holding their serve when down 0-1 in the first set of the doubles match.

Gleason and Martins secured victory by breaking Eala and Lys' serve for love in the eighth game of the match.

In her Wimbledon debut on Tuesday, Alex put up a strong fight against Krejčíková but ultimately lost in three sets, despite saying she 'couldn't have asked for a better debut.'

Eala's performance at Centre Court and her participation in the French Open doubles event last May highlight her growing presence in international tennis.
