Alas Pilipinas women's volleyball team wins AVC Nations Cup silver, De Guzman named Best Setter

Alas Pilipinas team captain Julia 'Jia' de Guzman emphasized patience and growth after her team won a silver medal in the AVC Nations Cup finals, losing 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 to Vietnam on Saturday.

De Guzman highlighted the importance of viewing both achievements and setbacks as part of the process towards improvement, sharing reflections on Instagram about building a culture focused on growth over immediate results.

The silver medal marked the country's best finish in Asian-level competition, surpassing last year's bronze medal achievement, with De Guzman also named Best Setter of the tournament.

Despite the loss, De Guzman encouraged her team to focus on learning from each experience and moving forward with their next tournament, the VTV Cup, scheduled for June 28 to July 5 in Vietnam.

The Nationals will face Vietnam again in Pool A of the VTV Cup alongside China's Sichuan Wuliangchun and Australia.
