Alas Pilipinas aims for podium finish at SEA Games

The Philippine women's volleyball team, Alas Pilipinas, aims for a podium finish at the upcoming 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand following their recent silver medal performance at the AVC Women's Nations Cup.

Coach Jorge De Brito highlighted that Vietnam, Indonesia, and Thailand remain strong contenders, emphasizing the importance of continued growth and preparation to close the gap with these regional rivals.

Philippine National Volleyball Federation President Ramon 'Tats' Suzara underscored the significance of national pride despite the SEA Games not carrying world ranking points, stating it is the main target for Alas Pilipinas this year.

Captain Jia De Guzman expressed confidence that her team can compete with top rivals Vietnam and Thailand if they stick to their program, acknowledging the gap but emphasizing potential future success through international exposure.

Alas Pilipinas will participate in the 2025 VTV Cup later this month and the Southeast Asian V. League in August before competing in the SEA Games.
