Alas Pilipinas reaches AVC Women's Nations Cup final, climbs to No. 46 in FIVB rankings

The Philippine women's national volleyball team, Alas Pilipinas, has advanced to the final of the 2025 AVC Women's Nations Cup and climbed to No. 46 in the FIVB world rankings after defeating Chinese Taipei.

They will face Vietnam for gold on Saturday night at 9:00 p.m. local time (Manila time), marking their first appearance in an Asian-level tournament final since 1961.

Ranked No. 56 by FIVB before the tournament, Alas Pilipinas has shown significant progress over the past three years with crucial support from stakeholders.

Ramon 'Tats' Suzara, president of the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF), expressed pride in the team's achievements and noted that stakeholder support is key to their success.

Head coach Jorge de Brito and captain Jia De Guzman emphasized focusing on giving their best performance to secure a title victory and further improve their world ranking.
