Alas Pilipinas lose to Pakistan in AVC opener

Alas Pilipinas began their campaign in the 2025 AVC Men's Volleyball Nations Cup by facing Pakistan on Tuesday, June 17, where they lost 25-18, 25-12, 18-25, 25-22.

Despite losing captain Marck Espejo early in the first set due to an ankle injury and struggling initially, Alas Pilipinas managed to secure a strong third set led by Leo Ordiales who scored 10 points.

The team's efforts were not enough as they fell behind in Sets 3 and 4, ultimately losing their opening match despite Ordiales' game-high 22-point performance.

Alas Pilipinas will face Chinese Taipei on Wednesday, June 18 at 7 pm Manila time, aiming to improve upon their debut performance and maintain their chances of advancing to the quarterfinals.
