Alas Pilipinas beats New Zealand in AVC Men's Nations Cup

Alas Pilipinas secured their lone victory in the AVC Men's Nations Cup on Tuesday by defeating New Zealand 25-16, 23-25, 25-11, 25-22 to finish in 10th place.

This win came after a tough loss to Chinese Taipei and marked their sole success following an earlier defeat against Thailand during the classification phase.

Steven Rotter led with 20 points, including 17 attacks, two aces, and one block, while Marck Espejo and Louie Ramirez each contributed 14 points.

Alas Pilipinas dominated the third set with a lopsided 25-11 victory after dropping the second set to New Zealand.

In the decisive fourth set, despite a late push from the Kiwis, Alas Pilipinas sealed their win as Espejo scored timely attacks and clinched match point for the Filipino team.
