Akari leads Galeries 2-0 in PVL quarterfinals

Akari secured their lead against Galeries in the best-of-three quarterfinal series of the 2024-25 Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference with a five-set victory on Saturday.

Ivy Lacsina led Akari's offensive efforts, scoring 28 points from 22 attacks and six blocks, while Eli Soyud contributed significantly with 19 points primarily through spikes.

The Chargers triumphed in the decisive set with a score of 15-11 after two hours and seven minutes of play at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Akari's Japanese mentor, Taka Minowa, advised the team to stay focused on their main goal and not be satisfied with their current achievements.

With Game 2 scheduled for Thursday at the same venue, Akari is now one win away from advancing to the semifinals of the PVL All-Filipino Conference.
