Choco Mucho, Akari win five-setters to advance

Choco Mucho and Akari secured five-set victories over PLDT and Galeries, respectively, to advance closer to the semifinals of the PVL All-Filipino Conference on Saturday at the PhilSports Arena.

Sisi Rondina led Choco Mucho's comeback in the fifth set against PLDT with 31 points from attacks, helping her team overcome a two-set deficit and win 20-16.

Honey Royse Tubino contributed to Choco Mucho's victory by scoring 20 points off attacks and finding Shiela Kiseo out of position for a key kill that brought them within match points.

Akari triumphed over Galeries in their five-set battle with Ivy Lacsina scoring 28 points and Eli Soyud adding 19, leading Akari to a narrow 15-11 victory in the final set.

Both teams' victories highlight the intensity of the PVL All-Filipino Conference playoffs as they vie for a spot in the semifinals.
