Creamline beats Akari, Petro Gazz; ties Choco Mucho in PVL semis

Akari secured a crucial victory over Choco Mucho in a thrilling five-set match during the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference semifinals on Saturday, but Creamline later dominated Akari 3-0 and Petro Gazz 3-1 to revive their own title hopes.

Creamline's win against both Akari and Petro Gazz kept them tied with Choco Mucho at 2-1 in the single-round robin semis, setting up a crucial match against Choco Mucho on Thursday, April 3rd.

Bernadeth Pons led Creamline with 17 points while limiting Akari's top scorer Eli Soyud to just 11 points after her career-best 34-point performance in their previous game. In the most recent victory over Petro Gazz, Tots Carlos contributed 13 hits and Alyssa Valdez added nine points.

Everyone could sense Creamline’s determination from the start as they dominated early in the opening set against Akari and found ways to claw back from deficits in subsequent sets.

Despite the defeat, the Chargers can still make it to the finals for the second time after their Reinforced Conference stint last year if they manage to upset Choco Mucho on Thursday.
