Soyud named Player of the Week after record-breaking performance

Christine Joy Soyud was named Player of the Week after leading Akari to a five-set victory over Choco Mucho in the PVL All-Filipino Conference semifinals on Saturday.

Soyud scored a career-high 34 points with 27 attacks and seven blocks, making it the sixth-highest single-game score by a Filipino player since the league's inception in 2017.

The match lasted two hours and 29 minutes, showcasing intense competition between Akari and Choco Mucho.

Soyud credited her team's collective effort for their hard-fought win, emphasizing that everyone contributed to the victory.
