AFP admits resources overstretched, deploys 3 more ships

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) admitted on Wednesday that its resources are overstretched while monitoring Chinese militia vessels in the West Philippine Sea off Palawan.

AFP spokesperson Major General Edgard Arevalo said additional navy vessels would help but would still not be enough to guard the expansive waters.

Arevalo also announced that three more Navy ships will be deployed for operational security in the disputed area until Chinese vessels stop illegal fishing.
