Alas Pilipinas' U18 volleyball team gears up for Thai tournaments

Alas Pilipinas' girls' volleyball team will participate in two international under-18 tournaments this month: the 22nd Princess Cup Southeast Asia U18 Championship from June 8-13 and the AVC Asian U18 Championship from June 16-23, both held in Thailand.

Former Philippine national team captain Aby Maraño visited the team ahead of their tourneys, encouraging them to learn from her experiences and enjoy every moment on the court.

The roster was unveiled by the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) earlier this week, with Japanese coach Taka Minowa at the helm, along with assistants Karl Dimaculangan, Vilet Ponce-De Leon, and Juan Miguel Dizon.

Players such as Bubay Bellen, Chasliey Pepito, Denesse Daylisan, Akeyla Bartolabac, Harlyn Serneche, Avril Bron, Kimberly Rubin, Jaila Adrao, Maile Salang, Aneeza Santos, Lianne Penuliar, Gillian Marzan, and Ashley Macalinao will represent the team in these tournaments.

The squad has been preparing for their international competitions by playing tune-up games against top PVL clubs such as Cignal and Akari.
