Abarrientos leads Ginebra past San Miguel 100-90

RJ Abarrientos led Barangay Ginebra San Miguel to a crucial 100-90 victory over the San Miguel Beermen in Game 3 of their PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup semifinals on Sunday, giving Ginebra a 2-1 series lead.

Abarrientos scored 24 points, including a pivotal 18-point fourth quarter that helped pull away from San Miguel late in the game and secure the win; his coaches' encouragement motivated him to take more shots when they were available.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone praised Abarrientos' performance and emphasized his importance to the team's success, highlighting his ability to make crucial shots down the stretch.

Jamie Malonzo contributed 20 points and seven rebounds for Ginebra, while Japeth Aguilar added 18 points in support of Abarrientos; meanwhile, Don Trollano led San Miguel with 22 points but the Beermen fell short against a determined Ginebra team.

Abarrientos' performance was particularly significant after averaging just 4.5 points on 4-of-21 shooting in the previous two games, and he also recorded nine rebounds and eight assists to help Ginebra atone for their loss last Friday.
