GenSan officials reject calls to revert to ECQ

General Santos City officials do not plan to revert to enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) despite rising COVID-19 cases.

City contact tracing czar Benjamin Magalong says local authorities are managing the situation well and will enhance their capabilities, including increasing testing capacity and establishing isolation facilities.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, NTF chairman, agrees there is no need for ECQ as health care resources remain sufficient and hospital admissions are manageable based on current capacity.
