19 Samar villagers contract Covid-19

As of Saturday, at least 19 residents of Villa Aurora village in Basey, Samar have been infected with coronavirus disease (Covid-19), all being family members and close contacts of two confirmed patients.

The local government has imposed a lockdown on the village from August 8 to 22 to prevent further transmission.

Residents are restricted from leaving their homes while contact tracing is ongoing.

Minors, senior citizens, and pregnant women are prohibited from leaving their respective homes except for essential reasons.
