DOLE job fair hires over 390 in Ilocos Region

Over 70 job applicants found employment at the 123rd Labor Day celebration job fair held in Robinsons Place Ilocos on Thursday, with a similar event attracting 13 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries who were hired on the spot in Zamboanga City.

A total of 391 job seekers in the Ilocos Region were hired on the spot during the Labor Day job fair held on May 1, according to DOLE-Region 1.

Of those hired immediately, 36 were beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), and a combined total of over 2,000 vacancies were offered across six venues in the region.

The events attracted numerous local employers offering positions such as sales, customer service, cashiering, food service, and administrative support, with DOLE providing PHP5,000 assistance to those who secured immediate employment.

DOLE Regional Director Exequiel Ronie Guzman encouraged participants to be confident, prepared, and hopeful as they sought employment opportunities at these events.
