67 kg shabu worth P455M seized in Zamboanga

On Tuesday night, police and military agents intercepted 67 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine (shabu) worth P455 million in Zamboanga City.

During a high-speed chase, the suspects' Toyota Hilux vehicle crashed into a ravine, leading to the arrest of the driver and his companion; one suspect was injured.

Brigadier General Eleazar P. Maata, director of the Police Regional Office in the Zamboanga Peninsula, stated that the two individuals would be charged under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The suspects were allegedly delivering the drugs to contacts in the city based on intelligence provided by tipsters.

The operation was conducted jointly by police from the Zamboanga Peninsula and Western Mindanao Command.
