571 Filipino seafarers repatriated from Florida

Some 571 Filipino seafarers from a Norwegian cruise ship were repatriated from Orlando, Florida to Manila on Sunday.

This brings the total number of repatriated Filipinos to 16,000.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) arranged for a chartered flight paid by the Norwegian Cruise Lines and provided transportation to quarantine facilities approved by the Department of Health (DOH).

Upon arrival, the seafarers underwent health inspections by the Bureau of Quarantine and will be subject to a 14-day facility-based quarantine.
