Western Visayas surpasses 1K COVID-19 cases

As of Sunday, July 26, Western Visayas has surpassed 1,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases with a total of 1,036 infections.

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 76 new positive cases on Saturday, bringing the region's tally to this milestone.

Negros Occidental and Bacolod City had the highest number of new cases with 25 and 24 respectively, including locally stranded individuals (LSIs), returning overseas Filipinos (ROFs), and local transmissions.

Other provinces in Western Visayas also reported new cases: Capiz (5), Iloilo province (3), and Iloilo City (1).

Previously, on Friday, the DOH recorded 66 new cases, raising the region's total to 960 infections.
