PNP reports 46 new COVID-19 cases, total now at 1,538

As of Sunday, July 19, the PNP reported 46 new COVID-19 cases among its officers, bringing the total number to 1,538.

Recoveries increased by ten to reach 596, while the death toll remained at nine.

The PNP urged personnel with symptoms similar to COVID-19 to contact their health service.

On Saturday, July 18, the PNP reported an additional 105 cases, raising the total number of infections to 1,492.

PNP spokesperson Brig. Gen. Bernard Banac noted that a majority of infected officers are asymptomatic; as of Thursday, there were 1,162 asymptomatic cases and 336 mild symptoms cases.
