DOH: 3 close contacts of India variant-infected OFW test positive

Three close contacts of an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) infected with the India variant of SARS-CoV-2 have also tested positive for COVID-19.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire announced that among 32 verified close contacts on the OFW's flight from UAE, three tested positive and their samples are being sequenced to confirm if they carry the Indian variant.

The DOH is still locating two of the positive cases while one case is pending verification due to database issues.
