Philippines demands China withdraw ships from West PH Sea

The Philippines has demanded China withdraw its fishing vessels from Julian Felipe Reef in the West Philippine Sea, calling it a violation of sovereignty.

On March 7, around 220 Chinese fishing vessels were spotted near the reef by the National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea.

China denies the presence of maritime militia and claims that the vessels are only seeking shelter due to rough sea conditions.

The Philippines continues to assert its rights over the area, which it considers part of its exclusive economic zone.
