Del Rosario urges gov't to summon Chinese envoy over 200 vessels in West Philippine Sea

Former Philippine foreign secretary Albert del Rosario urged the Duterte government on Monday, March 22, to summon China's ambassador over the presence of more than 200 Chinese vessels near Julian Felipe Reef in the West Philippine Sea.

Del Rosario commended the government for its proactive stance but said Huang Xilian should explain the massing of these ships within the Philippines' exclusive economic zone.

He also suggested seeking consultations with security partners like the US, EU, UK, Australia, and Japan on how to address this act of aggression.
