DOH reports 2,057 new COVID-19 cases, 442 recoveries

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 442 new recoveries from COVID-19 on Saturday, bringing the total number of recoveries to 313,112.

The DOH also recorded 2,057 new cases, increasing the total active cases to 47,773.

Of the new cases, 92 percent occurred within the past two weeks, with Rizal and Caloocan City recording the highest number of new cases.

The death toll rose by 19, bringing it to 6,934, with most recent deaths occurring in October and September.

Active cases are predominantly mild (83.7%), while a small percentage are asymptomatic, severe, or critical.
