2 dead, 4 missing as floods hit Bicol

At least two people died and four remained missing due to strong winds and floods caused by the tail end of a frontal system affecting Bicol since New Year’s Eve.

The fatalities include Ceejay Raro, a three-year-old boy who drowned after his boat capsized in Camarines Sur on December 30, and Jonel Monterde Medinilla, 28, from Pilar, Sorsogon, who was swept away by floods.

Three individuals were missing from Garchitorena, Camarines Sur, while one person was unaccounted for in Bulan, Sorsogon.

The tail end of the frontal system brought heavy rains and caused flooding and landslides across Bicol, affecting 40 families and resulting in 106 reported flood incidents in 29 towns and cities.
