Western Visayas receives 16,800 Sinovac vaccine doses

Sixteen thousand, eight hundred doses of the Chinese-made Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine have arrived in Western Visayas, with some arriving in Iloilo and Negros Occidental.

The vaccines were distributed to ten hospitals in Iloilo City and Bacolod City that handle COVID-19 cases.

Dr. Emilia Monicimpo, DOH Western Visayas regional director, stated that these vaccines will help reduce morbidity and mortality, especially among vulnerable sectors.

The rollout of the vaccination program will prioritize health workers and front liners.

A quick substitution list is being prepared to prevent wastage in case some individuals decline vaccination, as the process is voluntary.
