VP Robredo commits to attend Comelec debates

Vice President Leni Robredo's camp has confirmed her commitment to attend all debates organized by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), with the first scheduled for March 19.

Robredo's spokesperson, Atty. Ibarra "Barry" Gutierrez, stated that a formal written commitment will be submitted soon, emphasizing the Vice President's intention to participate.

This clarification came after Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez noted that Robredo had only provided a verbal commitment and had not submitted a written confirmation or refusal.

Jimenez's list indicated that several other presidential candidates had submitted written commitments, including Ernesto Abella, Leody de Guzman, Isko Moreno Domagoso, Norberto Gonzales, Panfilo Lacson, and Manny Pacquiao.

Additionally, Faisal Mangondato and Jose Montemayor Jr. had reportedly given verbal commitments but had not submitted written ones to the Comelec.
