VP Sara claims impeachment plot in House, lawmakers deny

Vice President Sara Duterte claims discussions about her potential impeachment are openly happening within the House of Representatives, citing friends inside the House who confirmed these discussions but are hesitant to speak publicly due to fear.

Duterte views this as a predictable tactic by those aiming to destabilize her family, citing past investigations into her father, brother, and husband, as well as issues concerning her confidential funds.

Ranking congressmen have urged the Vice President to name her supposed close friends in the House who informed her of the impeachment plot.

However, House lawmakers, including Deputy Majority Leader Janette Garin, have denied the existence of such a plan to unseat the Vice President, stating they have not heard any talk of impeaching her.

They advised Duterte to be wary of rumors, with one representative suggesting she identify her sources so they can clarify the information they received.

Garin added that the chamber has been busy scrutinizing the proposed 2025 national budget, implying that talk of potential impeachment is a waste of time.
