TS Rolly prompts TCWS No. 1 over Metro Manila, other Luzon areas

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 was raised over parts of Luzon as Tropical Storm Rolly continues to traverse the West Philippine Sea.

Areas under TCWS No. 1 include Metro Manila, Cavite, Bataan, the western portions of Batangas, Laguna, Bulacan, and Pampanga, as well as the northwestern portion of Occidental Mindoro and the southern portion of Zambales.

These areas will experience winds of 30 to 60 km/h, with intermittent rains expected within 36 hours.

The storm is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Tuesday morning.

Its center was located 155 kilometers west of Sangley Point, Cavite, with maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 90 kph.

Rolly is moving west-northwestward at 20 kph over the West Philippine Sea.

There is an increasing likelihood that Rolly will weaken into a Low Pressure Area due to unfavorable conditions.
