Typhoon Rolly moves towards Batangas, Cavite with destructive winds

Typhoon Rolly is currently moving towards Batangas and Cavite, with these provinces expected to experience destructive winds and intense rainfall.

The typhoon's eye is forecast to pass between Metro Manila and Batangas, being closest to the capital region between 5 pm and 7 pm.

Rolly continues to gradually weaken, with maximum sustained winds decreasing to 165 km/h and gustiness to 230 km/h.

PAGASA has downgraded the highest storm signal to Signal No. 3, with many areas still under Signals No. 1 and 2.

Heavy to intense rains are anticipated over Calabarzon, Metro Manila, and other parts of Luzon, with moderate to heavy rains in the Cordillera Administrative Region and parts of Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon.

Light to moderate with at times heavy rains will affect Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro, Western Visayas, and the rest of Luzon.

PAGASA warns of potential flash floods, rain-induced landslides, and lahar flows in highly susceptible areas.
