Tropical storm Pulasan may enter PAR by Tuesday

The tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has intensified into Tropical Storm Pulasan, with maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h and gustiness of up to 80 km/h.

Pulasan is expected to enter PAR by Tuesday evening and may be given the local name "Helen."

However, the storm may only graze the northern boundary of the PAR or not enter at all before exiting by Wednesday morning.

Regardless of its entry into PAR, Pulasan is expected to enhance the southwest monsoon, or "habagat."

This enhancement may bring rains to Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Visayas, and parts of Calabarzon.
