Monsoon rains to persist in parts of PH

Southwest monsoon, enhanced by Tropical Depression Gener and Tropical Storm Helen, brings rains to parts of the Philippines.

Gener exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday and was located 410 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union.

Tropical Storm Helen is forecast to exit the PAR region Wednesday afternoon or evening.

Although both weather systems are moving away, they continue to enhance the southwest monsoon, which could bring rains across the country in the next 24 hours.

Heavy to intense rains may persist in Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Antique.

Occasional light to heavy rains may also affect Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Batangas, Zambales, Pangasinan, and the rest of Western Visayas.

PAGASA warned of possible flooding or landslides in susceptible areas.
