Tropical Depression Dodong moves away from PH

Tropical Depression Dodong was last seen 150 kilometers northwest of Dagupan City, Pangasinan, as it moves away from the Philippine landmass.

The weather system is moving southwest at 15 kilometers per hour with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

Dodong may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

PAGASA forecasts Dodong to intensify into a tropical storm by Saturday and potentially a severe tropical storm by Monday, July 17, over waters south of Hong Kong, before heading towards southern China.

While no longer bringing widespread rain, La Union and Pangasinan may still experience showers, with possible floods and landslides.

Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur are the only remaining areas under Signal No. 1 as of Friday evening.
