Ginebra, TNT clash in PBA Governors' Cup Finals rematch

Barangay Ginebra and TNT are set to face each other in another best-of-seven PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup Finals series.

This championship matchup marks a rematch from the previous Governors' Cup where TNT, then coached by Jojo Lastimosa, emerged victorious over Ginebra with a 4-2 series win.

The finals will highlight a strategic coaching battle between TNT's Chot Reyes and Ginebra's Tim Cone, who have a history of facing each other in six previous finals series with a 3-3 record.

Both coaches have handled the Gilas Pilipinas program, with Cone serving as deputy of Reyes for the 2023 FIBA World Cup before taking over the reins and steering the country to a gold medal finish in the Hangzhou Asian Games.

TNT has improved its defense, while Ginebra has strengthened its long-range shooting.

The finals will feature a matchup between Best Import winners Rondae Hollis-Jefferson of TNT and Justin Brownlee of Ginebra.
